Thank you for being apart of our 160 team Fall League.  NOTE: It is the team's responsibility to check the "Baseball Network" web site every Friday prior to their games.  Changes may occur periodically throughout the season. 

   
The league will be governed by the Sporting News Rule Book with the following exceptions: 

RULES

1. Home team is listed first on RMSB Network schedule.
2. Base runner cannot leave any base until ball has crossed home plate.
3. Runner can advance to any base on a passed ball or wild pitch.
4. Dropped 3rd strike rule is in effect.
5. Game length will be 7 innings or no new inning at 1 hour and 45 minutes. In the event there is a tie after 7 complete innings and game time has not expired, we will use the International Tiebreaker for 1 inning to break the tie.  If daylight permits, the last game of the day may continue as many innings as necessary to break the tie.
6. Maximum of 8 runs per half inning, after 8 runs score, teams exchange offense and defensive.  In the last inning the trailing team may score unlimited runs.
7. 9 run rule after 5 innings.
8. 4 innings constitutes a complete game when delayed or called because of inclement weather.
9. Pitchers are allowed to pitch 7 innings in one day (please keep in mind how much they have pitched during the week in any other games).
10. You can re-enter the starting pitcher one time whether he has been taken out of the starting line up or not.
11. Unlimited Defensive substitutions. Your defensive lineup is non-related to your batting order. A player may play defensively even if they are not in the batting lineup.
12. Batting Order: There is no limit to the number of players you have in the batting lineup. A team must bat a minimum of 9 players. We encourage all teams to allow all players to be in the batting lineup.
13. Batting Order Re-entry Rule: Starters may only re-enter one time and in the same spot in the batting order.
14. Home team will be official scorer unless otherwise designated by RMSB official. Put starting time in the book.
15. We will enforce an avoid contact or must slide rule at all bases.  Malicious contact-runner will be ejected.     It is the discretion of the umpire if the runner is trying to avoid contact or a collision.
16. A must slide rule will be in effect when an infielder is attempting to turn a double-play at second base.  This rule is for the protection of the base runner.  The runner will be called out only if his not sliding affects the defensive play.
17. Keep your team hustling on and off the field.  We need to keep the games on schedule.  Eliminate defensive huddles prior to your team taking the field in between innings.
18. Please have a Catcher available to warm up your Pitcher between innings when your Catcher is not ready.
19. Pitchers - Maximum of 8 warm-up pitches between innings.
20. Many fields have portable mounds. Pitchers are not allowed to wear metal cleats on the portable mounds. They must wear rubber-molded cleats or turf shoes.
21. Teams are not allowed to play music between innings at complexes where there is more than one game going on. Teams are allowed to play music between innings only at fields where there are no other games taking place. The purpose of this rule is to show respect for the other games going on.
22. No infield before games. Get teams in the dugout and have your teams ready to play on time.
23. No speed up rules.  Every player needs to learn to run the bases
24. There are no restrictions on the size of bats or metal cleats.
25. End of game – Remove garbage from dugout and clear dugout in a timely manner. Hold post game discussions outside of the dugout in order for the next team to come in and get organized to play.
26. Show respect to the umpires, your opponents and most of all to this great game.
27. Have a Great and FUN Fall League!!!

Weather is always a factor this time of year.  Please keep in mind teams that are traveling great distances, be courteous enough to let them know if your home field may be unplayable.  If games are called off they will be called off one game at a time, rather than backing them up the entire day.  Dennis Udy will serve as Weather Central and hopefully will be able to help you on field conditions.  Call first on 877-272-0862 or his cell phone: 435-701-5555
