Tournament Rules
High School Federation rules will govern this tournament.
The following rules will supercede High School Federation rules.
1. Game time will be 1 hr and 45 minutes or 7 innings.
2. Home team will be determined by a rock-paper-scissors plate meeting. Tournament play home team will be highest seed is home. If both teams are the same seed rock-paper-scissors will kick in.
3. Mercy rule is 9 runs after 5 innings. Mercy rule will be in effect in all games.
(9 Year old division will play a 8 run limit, offensive. The last play is live.)
4. Batter may advance on a passed third strike. (9u division cannot advance, batter is out.)
5. No Bat restrictions. Metal cleats are good to go.
6. Home team will be official score keeper. Umpire should give game time to official score keeper.
7. Unlimited defensive substitutions.
8. Offensive team my bat 9 or more batters. If batting nine re- entry in the batting line up will allow the starter to enter offensively. The sub is burn after being removed.
9. Pitchers will have 14 innings of pitching for the Tournament. One pitch will count as an inning. You must have your pitching chart signed every game. Charts must be reviewed by Matt before Saturday Play. So keep it up to date. 7 inning limit in a day. No rest is required between days. Coaches should keep their players future in mind, this tournament is not worth ruining a pitchers arm.
10. Speed up for the catcher and pitcher is allowed.
11. There is a avoid contact rule on all bases. Obstruction or interference will be called as is dictated by the play. Make your life easy and slide.
12. In the 9 & 10 year old divisions, base runners may not leave their base until the pitched ball has crossed home plate. Violators will be called out when caught. No warnings.
13. International tie breaker will be used in all extra innings or in tied ball games where time has run out.
14. Team seeding will be based on first three games results. 1st over all record. 2nd Head to head where possible. 3rd runs allowed. 4th Matt will make something up. Once a team is established, the tie breaker will start over for remaining teams.
15. To intentional walk a batter 4 balls must be thrown.
